Funding boost: Campbelltown Arts Centre.

Federal Member for Macarthur, Russell Matheson, has congratulated Campbelltown Arts Centre for receiving $91,240 through the Australia Council’s September core grants program.

Total funding of $10.4 million was provided to 290 projects to be delivered by individuals, groups and small to medium arts organisations.

Mr Matheson welcomed the Australian Government funding and congratulated local recipient Campbelltown Arts Centre on their Arts Projects Organisations 2015 grant.

“These grants enrich our communities by giving our local arts organisations opportunities to create new works, develop their professional skills and entertain both Australian and international audiences,” Mr Matheson said.

Minister for the Arts Mitch Fifield said the Australian Government was committed to supporting Australian artists and arts organisations and providing opportunities for them to showcase their work to audiences.

The Australia Council’s core grants program supports the creation and presentation of new artistic work, increases access and participation in the arts across Australia, and builds the profile of Australian arts and culture both nationally and internationally.

Applications for the next grants round close in February 2016.
