Is your little one strapped in safely? Let the NRMA check – for free – on January 16, 2016 in Liverpool and Campbelltown.

Are you a parent of a child under seven years? There’s a 70 per cent likelihood that your little one is travelling in an unsecured restraint or booster and they’re seven times more likely to be hurt in a crash or even in heavy braking.

The National Roads and Motorists’ Association’s Liverpool MotorServe wants to help make your child safe.

On Saturday, January 16 the NRMA asks families in the Liverpool area take their cars into their local store, 46 Bathurst Street, Liverpool.

As for members in Macarthur, NRMA asks families to take their cars into the Campbelltown store, 2/12 Blaxland Road, also on Saturday, January 16.

NRMA experts will check your child restraint and, where necessary, refit the device for optimum safety at no cost.

Call 1300 880 294 to make an appointment.

Families are invited to enjoy free coffee and cake while they wait to have their restraint checked.

NRMA’s senior policy advisor, Dimitra Vlahomitros, said that even the most highly rated child restraint or booster seat was compromised if fitted incorrectly.

“We know that around seven in 10 children are inadvertently placed in harm’s way because the safety devices designed to save them aren’t properly secured,” Ms Vlahomitros said.

“Whether you’re an NRMA Member or not, we are placing our MotorServes at your disposal in order to protect the youngest and most vulnerable members of our community.”
