The community consultation period on Western Sydney Airport closes tomorrow, Friday, December 18.
“The 60 day consultation period on the draft Airport Plan and draft Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) provides an opportunity for the community to have a say on what will be a transformational infrastructure project,” says deputy prime Minister and minister for infrastructure and regional development Warren Truss.
“I encourage those who have not yet done so to find out more about the project and make a submission if they have comments to make.
“The public exhibition of the draft Airport Plan and draft EIS allows the community to gain a full understanding of all the issues surrounding the proposed airport and helps ensure the project will be able to deliver the best outcome for the Western Sydney community.”
Local councils like Campbelltown and Liverpool have prepared submissions based on the peer review of the EIS commissioned by umbrella organisations like MACROC and WSROC.
Mr Truss said submissions received during the exhibition period will be compiled and taken into account in finalising the EIS and Airport Plan.

“During the exhibition period there have been 14 information sessions to date and displays in libraries across Western Sydney and the Blue Mountains,” he said.
