Thirteen community projects in the Liverpool area will share $300,000 in funding for infrastructure and equipment.
The funding has been provided under the NSW Government’s annual Community Building Partnership program.
The grant recipients range from sporting organisations, school P&Cs and to organisations that assist people with disabilities.
CEO of Disability South West, Sean Langshaw, said that their funding grant of ) $50,769 will provide much needed assistance for people with a disability in the South West Sydney region.
“This funding will enable us to purchase a new 12 seater bus to transport people with disabilities – something that we believe will help many people within the Liverpool area,” Mr Langshaw said.
The State Member for Holsworthy, Melanie Gibbons, who announced details of the grants, said local businesses and the community would benefit from the $300,000 investment in local construction jobs and also the new infrastructure.
“The NSW Government is getting on with the job, ensuring a stronger and better Liverpool region,’’ Ms Gibbons said.
Ms Gibbons said it has been a privilege to support community projects that make a real difference to the local area.
“I look forward to seeing the progress of the local projects as they are undertaken and then, more importantly, put into use.
“It is great to be involved in providing the grants to help organisations with their projects,” Ms Gibbons said.
