The St Helens Park skate park may now be part of an integrated recreation hub.

St Helens Park residents will soon have a brand new skate park that’s part of an integrated recreation hub.

In response to the recreation needs of a growing community, Campbelltown City Council recently engaged a consultant to develop a master plan for St Helens Park Reserve.

The reserve is located at the southern entrance to Campbelltown, on the corner of Appin Road and Kellerman Drive.

The master plan process will seek community input, and consider opportunities for the creation of a recreational destination that will integrate the St Helens Park skate park.

The skate park is currently under construction and due for completion in December.

The St Helens Park skate park will be the third of its kind in Campbelltown, offering a unique experience for skaters, BMX and scooter riders.

It was designed after extensive consultation with young people, residents and other interested parties.

Local residents will be encouraged to share their thoughts of the master plan for the reserve.

A community drop-in information and feedback stall will be set up at Rosemeadow Marketplace on Saturday, November 28 between 10am and 1pm.

Local residents will get the chance to learn more about the project, view preliminary master plan concepts for the reserve, and provide feedback on the proposed ideas for the site.

School visits were also conducted in early November to gather ideas from young residents in the area.

Council says the input of the local community will assist it and the consultants in refining and amending the concepts before finalising the master plan.

Mayor of Campbelltown, Cr Paul Hawker, said council was committed to providing a range of recreational facilities to support residents to be active and connected to their community.

“Council is keen to ensure that all members of the community have an opportunity to contribute their ideas and I encourage local residents to view the concepts on display at Rosemeadow Marketplace,” Cr Hawker said.
