Campbelltown MP Greg Warren has today dropped in on not one but two of his local constituents who will celebrate their 100th birthdays in the coming days.

The first was Yvonne Woodward, who lives at Ruse and will turn 100 tomorrow, Saturday, July 2.

The second was Russell Tipper, a resident of Leumeah who will celebrate reaching the three-figure milestone next Tuesday, July 5.

Mr Warren surprised Mrs Woodward with a bouquet of flowers and a certificate.

He also surprised Mr Tipper with a box of chocolates and a certificate.

The local member of parliament later paid tribute to both individuals for reaching such an incredible age milestone.

“Yvonne is such a character and has had so many memorable moments throughout her life,” Mr Warren said.

“As a little girl, she walked across the Harbour Bridge the day it was opened – a historic event in both our state and our nation’s history.

“Russell has also had an incredible life,’’ Mr Warren said.

“He was stationed in Darwin during WWII as a gunner – so he certainly played a pivotal role in protecting and serving our nation.

“Congratulations again to both Yvonne and Russell for reaching such a wonderful milestone.

“I hope they enjoy what I am sure will be remarkable celebrations with their families and their loved ones.”
