More than 10 vehicles in crash that claimed man’s life

More than 10 vehicles were involved in a crash on the Hume Highway at Wilton which claimed the life of a 43 year old man.

Five drivers from other vehicles involved in the crash were taken to Campbelltown Hospital for mandatory testing.

Emergency services responded to reports of a multi vehicle crash in the northbound lanes of the Hume Highway at Wilton, just south of Picton Road around 3pm on Thursday afternoon.

On arrival they found that the driver of a Mitsubishi Fuso was trapped inside his vehicle.

The man was released by Fire and Rescue NSW and treated by paramedics, however he died at the scene.

The incident caused delays for motorists using the Hume Highway.

Officers from Camden Police Area Command established a crime scene.

The Crash Investigation Unit have commenced inquiries into the circumstances surrounding the crash.

A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.

Police are appealing for public assistance to locate this 21 year old woman missing from South Western Sydney since Monday night.

Caitlin Daly was last seen at her home on Cronin Place, Bonnyrigg about 10pm on Monday.

Officers attached to Fairfield City Police Area Command commenced an investigation into her whereabouts when she was reported missing by family.

Her family and friends have concerns for her welfare as they haven’t heard from her since Tuesday 12 October 2021.

Caitlin is described as being of Caucasian appearance, about 155-165cm tall, of thin build, with blonde hair.

She was last seen wearing a red top with black tights. Caitlin has a scar on her left arm and a tattoo of her birth date in Roman numerals on her left forearm.

Police have information to suggest Caitlin may have visited the Wentworth Point area.

UPDATE – October 18: Caitlin has been found and is safe and well.
