The future is looking bright for Youth Solutions after receiving massive support from the Macarthur community at its annual fundraiser held this month.
A fun night themed “denim and diamonds’’, it raised $76,000, which will go towards the charity’s drug and alcohol prevention and health promotion services for young people.
A dash of country denim and good dose of sparkle transformed The Cube, Campbelltown Catholic Club, into a dazzling spectacle fit for a night of dancing, music, entertainment and quality company – for a good cause.
Youth Solutions chief executive officer Geraldine Dean says she was blown away by the result.
“We’ve raised more than we had hoped, and I cannot thank our supporters enough for caring about our young people and community and, most importantly, being so proactive about it,” Mrs Dean said.
“This incredible support will help shape a brighter path for the young people we work with. Every cent raised from this event goes back into our youth programs.
“These funds allow us to deliver crucial drug, alcohol and wellbeing education with more young people in our community.
“The funds also allow us to offer outreach services to meet our young people where they are, building connections and providing a safe space for drug, alcohol and wellbeing education and support,” said Mrs Dean, pictured while presenting a certificate to Rotary Club of Narellan president John Gannon.
Amanda Dillon, the Youth Solutions manager for marketing and engagement, echoed the sentiments of gratitude, paying particular tribute to the event sponsors and donors.
“While we always promise a night of fun at our Charity Event, it’s our incredible supporters who make this night a success – the sponsors, the businesses and individuals who donate prizes, the event attendees and our supporters who buy raffle tickets, bid on our auction items and buy mystery prizes,” Ms Dillon said.
“We’d like to particularly thank our major event sponsor, the Rotary Club of Narellan for their incredible contribution to this event and their ongoing support of Youth Solutions, which spans decades.
“Thanks also to our wonderful ruby sponsor, AGL, and all of our table sponsors for their amazing contributions.
“We invite more of our community to join us for our fundraising events throughout the year – your support helps us to make a positive difference and is key for helping our young people to be healthy, safe and well-connected.”
