Every young person has something to say and the Youth Council is a great platform to have your voice heard, says Camden Youth Council member Joanna Kolevris.

A former Camden young citizen of the year, Ms Kolevris is calling eligible residents to get involved.

“I came to Australia seven years ago and joined the Youth Council about three years ago,’’ she said.

“It opened up new opportunities for me, including meeting people in the wider community.

“For those thinking about joining, I would say give it a go.”

Camden Youth Council is currently accepting new members aged between 12 and 25 years.

Mayor of Camden, Cr Theresa Fedeli, said the Youth Council, which is an initiative of Camden Council, is a great way to hear directly from the young people in the developing Camden area.

“Our local young residents are very important as they are our future leaders,” Cr Fedeli said.

“Being a part of the Camden Youth Council allows our young people to help develop ideas for fellow young people both in the present and future.

“I encourage all interested young people to register their interest to join the Camden Youth Council as we are eager to hear your ideas and views for our local area.”

Well done – we’re proud of you: these Macarthur Anglican College students with the Mayor of Camden, Cr Theresa Fedeli, right, were among more than 300 local students at a council civic reception held to acknowledge their outstanding HSC performances.
