Two motorcyclists accused of speeding by more than 82kmh on a section of the Northern Road will be facing court next month.
One is a learner, while the second one is a provisional licence holder.
Police say that just before midnight last night, officers from the Traffic and Highway Patrol Command detected the pair travelling northbound at 142km/h in a 60km/h zone near Narellan. Officers subsequently stopped and spoke with the male riders, both of whom were issued with Field Court Attendance Notices for driving recklessly or in a dangerous manner.
The holder of the learner’s rider licence – an 18-year-old man – was also charged with exceeding the speed limit by 45km/h.
A 17 year-old teenager and holder of the provisional rider licence was also charged with exceeding the speed limit by the same estimated amount.
A notice of suspension of licence privileges was also served upon the pair, who will appear at Picton Local Court on May 22.
