If you receive Christmas cards from the Royal Freemasons Benevolent Institution (RFBI) Care at Home Southwest Sydney this is what it looks like this year.
It’s the winning design from this year’s competition for local school students and was submitted by Norgen, a Year 1 student at Mary Brooksbank School, Campbelltown.
This year, the 11th in a row the competition has run, was the biggest yet, with a record 35 schools participating.
From hundreds of submitted designs, Care at Home Southwest Sydney residents selected one, Norgen’s entry.
Norgen receives a $100 gift card and a $50 gift card for the school.
“This competition is more than an art project for children, it’s about building relationships and sharing joy,” says Mandy Hoskin, care at home coordinator for RFBI Care at Home Southwest Sydney.
“I want to pass on a huge thank you to all the students who submitted a design. They were amazing.
“Our residents had a very tough time selecting the winners.”
RFBI has proudly run this competition since 2014 and each year it continues to grow, bringing joy to local students and Care at Home clients.
The purpose has always been to strengthen connections with local community members while creating a fun, meaningful Christmas activity that bridges the generational gap between young people and residents.
RFBI was founded in 1880 to assist people in need and today is a not-for-profit aged care provider operating 22 residential care villages, 20 retirement villages and offering a range of home care services across NSW and ACT.
As well as providing aged care services and retirement living accommodation, RFBI supports people in local communities through its Benevolence Program and Annuities Scheme.
