The International Women’s Day Gala dinner has become one of the big social events of the year in the Macarthur region.

It always boasts a high profile guest speaker – last year it was TV presenter, journalist and author Jessica Rowe, pictured below.

The event attracts some of South Western Sydney region’s most successful women – as well as male supporters.

The Camden mayor of the day also makes an address during the evening.

The Camden woman of the year award is presented as part of the dinner, while proceeds go to a local charity.

Historic Gledswood homestead and winery will be the venue for this year’s event on March 8.

Mayor of Camden, Cr Therese Fedeli, says the International Women’s Day gala dinner is a great opportunity for local businesses to support a worthy cause.

“Camden is home to so many women who play a pivotal role in many homes, organisations and families and it is important they are all celebrated accordingly,” Cr Fedeli said.

“International Women’s Day is about celebrating the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women while calling for action in accelerating gender parity.

“This year, the theme is Cracking the Code: Innovation for a gender equal future, emphasising the importance of bold and transformative ideas, inclusive technologies, and accessible education in combating discrimination and the marginalisation of women globally.

“I’m proud to be celebrating more than 39,000 women living in the Camden area and their contributions to, not only their loved ones, but to the entire community.

“I encourage local businesses to jump on board to partner with council in delivering this momentous Gala evening in 2023,” Ms Fedeli said.
