Women take the reins at Club Menangle Carnival of Miracles

Night two of the Sky Racing Carnival of Miracles, the Schweppes Ladies Night, will celebrate the fantastic contribution of women in harness racing.

It will also showcase the talents of female participants with the running of the Vodka Cruiser Lady Drivers Invitational Pace.

Ten reinswomen from around the state have been selected to participate in the $20,400 penalty-exempt event, which will be contested on Saturday, 25 February.

Club Menangle has invited the following list of drivers competing in the race.

The 2023 Vodka Cruiser Lady Drivers Invitational Pace list: Sofia Arvidsson, McKayler Barnes, Jemma Coney, KerryAnn Morris, Stephanie Morris, Taylah Osmond, Grace Panella, Hannah Rixon, Amanda Turnbull and Emma Turnbull. The reserve driver isOlivia Frisby.

The Vodka Cruiser Lady Drivers Invitational Pace is for horses with a National Rating up to 90.

“Each year, the Lady Drivers Invitational attracts a star-studded line up of reinswomen invited by Club Menangle,’’ says Club Menangle general manager of racing operations David Wonson.

“The 2023 edition promises to be a great race with an abundance of NSW-based talent to compete.

“It will also be excellent to see the WomenCan Team Teal campaign light up the track with the entire field of drivers wearing the Teal pants,’’ Mr Wonson said.
