A man has been charged after two people were threatened with a firearm in separate incidents at two neighbouring Campbelltown suburbs.

In the first incident, about 10pm last night (Tuesday), emergency services responded to reports of an attempted armed robbery on Mona Vale Place, Woodbine.

Officers from Campbelltown City Police Area Command were informed that a 43-year-old woman was exiting a vehicle she had just parked when she was approached by two men where they allegedly assaulted her. One of the men has allegedly produced a pistol striking the woman around the head and face.

The men fled the scene on foot towards Queenscliff Drive after residents who were alerted to the woman’s screams rushed to her assistance.

NSW Ambulance paramedics treated the woman at the scene before she was taken to Campbelltown Hospital in a serious but stable condition.

About an hour later a 23-year-old man drove into the driveway of a home on Crowley Boulevard, Claymore.

When the man exited the vehicle and walked to the entrance of the home, he was allegedly approached by the same two men who produced the pistol.

The men allegedly stole the keys and a mobile phone from the 23-year-old man.

It will be further alleged that when they were unable to start the vehicle, they forced the man to start the vehicle before driving it from the scene.

A short time later the vehicle was allegedly seen by police driving in a dangerous manner before it crashed into a tree along Blaxland Road, Campbelltown, near Badgally Road.

After the collision the men were seen by police to exit the vehicle and running away from the scene.

Following a short foot pursuit officers arrested a 22-year-old man along Badgally Road.

He was taken to Campbelltown Police Station and charged with five offences including:

Assault with intent to rob while armed with dangerous weapon;

Robbery while armed with dangerous weapon;

Learner not accompanied by a driver/police/officer/tester;

Drive recklessly/furiously or speed/manner dangerous;

Possess an unauthorised pistol.

He was refused bail to appear at Campbelltown Local Court today (Wednesday).

A canvass of the area allegedly located a gel blaster pistol submerged in a shallow body of water in the Bow Bowing causeway.

Police will allege that the 22-year-old man produced the pistol on both occasions and was the driver of the vehicle at the time of the crash.

Inquiries established that he was the holder of a learner licence.

Investigations are continuing in relation to the second male.

No vehicle pursuit was initiated by police during this incident.
