The legal war over Wilton New Town is set to continue with South West Sydney and Macarthur developer Bradcorp confirming it plans to appeal the latest decision in the Supreme Court of NSW.

Bradcorp also says its commitment to the vision of a great development at North Wilton will not be affected by the court outcome.

Late last year the NSW Government rezoned North Wilton, paving the way for the creation of Wilton New Town, and the establishment of the first new town in NSW in over 100 years.

Bradcorp confirmed that it had previously entered into option agreements with Risland (now known as Country Garden Australia), the subject of which had been before the Supreme Court of NSW.

Risland succeeded in defending its decision not to go ahead with the option to purchase Bradcorp’s 870-hectare rural site at Wilton North – which is set to be developed into a new satellite town for Sydney after being earmarked as a priority growth precinct by the NSW government.

In response to the judgment handed down, Bradcorp chief executive Peter Brennan said:  “We have reviewed the judgment, however believe we have met our obligations and as such, will absolutely appeal the decision.

“The judgment is based on legal technicalities and in no way impacts our vision for the project and its delivery for the people of Wollondilly,’’ Mr Brennan said.

“The Bradcorp team is finalising applications for the first stage of North Wilton that also includes key infrastructure and amenity that is consistent with the master plan previously exhibited.

“North Wilton is an exceptional and important project and we are looking forward to the constructive input from the community during these planning processes.

“Bradcorp has a long history of pursuing the best outcomes for Macarthur and will continue to do so.

“We are part of this community and our contribution over many years speaks for itself.

“We will not compromise on our vision for a unique, connected and sustainable North Wilton that has been 17 years in the making and are committed to working with a delivery partner that has both the capability, commitment and experience to deliver something extraordinary for the people of Wollondilly,” Mr Brennan said.
