Wests Tigers NRL head coach Benji Marshall has named a 26-man squad to take on the Sydney Roosters in the club’s first Witzer Pre-Season Challenge fixture this Saturday in Newcastle.
The squad features a combination of NRL Top 30, Development, NSW Cup and Wests Tigers Pathways players – all lining up for the first official hit out of the 2026 campaign.
Jock Madden and Tristan Hope have been named co-captains; while Sione Fainu, Tony Sukkar and Charlie Murray are among several players who bring NRL experience to the squad.
Pheonix Godinet has been named to start in the back row, while his Wests Tigers Pathways teammates, Christian Taupau-Moors and Siotame Havea Jr have been named on the bench.
Meanwhile four Wests Tigers players have been named across men’s and women’s Indigenous and Māori All Star squads for the 15th edition of Harvey Norman All Stars, the game’s annual cultural showpiece to kick off the 2026 Rugby League calendar.
The Wests Tigers selected were Royce Hunt (Māori), Ethan Roberths (Indigenous), Raecene McGregor (Māori) and Caitlin Turbull (Indigenous).
The Harvey Norman All Stars Men’s and Women’s fixtures will be played at FMG Stadium, Waikato this Sunday, February 15.
