One of Australia’s largest broadband installations is coming to Sydney’s newest master planned community at Appin.

Under a multi-million-dollar partnership between Walker Corporation and NBN, the latest Fibre to the Premises (FTTP) technology will be rolled out in 2025.

The massive full fibre rollout extends to 13,000 premises in Walker Appin communities with each home and business able to access NBN’s fastest residential speeds supported by a full fibre connection.

NBN executive general manager – new developments Andrew Walsh said households and businesses in Appin communities will get access to its fastest and most reliable broadband speeds.

“By delivering full fibre to Walker Appin communities, residents will be able to run more concurrent devices, upload and download files faster, experience higher-definition streaming, faster game downloads and online performance, all with fewer interruptions,” Mr Walsh said.

“On top of the ample lifestyle benefits on offer, this essential infrastructure will help drive social equity, productivity and economic growth for the community and broader Macarthur region.”

The digital infrastructure deal comes just weeks after another multi-million-dollar partnership was signed between Walker Corporation, Sydney Water and coNEXA to fast-track water and recycled wastewater infrastructure to the new Appin development.

Walker managing director and chief executive officer David Gallant said the new partnership with NBN was a large upfront investment to deliver smart homes of the future for every Appin resident.

“We want the very best for families moving into our new communities and that’s why we have teamed up with the best in the business to deliver this outstanding full fibre technology,” Mr Gallant said.

“It will also connect our adjoining high tech business park to the fastest broadband speeds which will bring thousands of professional jobs for residents to live and work locally.”

  1. Seems to be another advertorial for Walker. Many developments have signed agreements with NBN of a similar vein.

    • Stacey don’t be such a naysayer! Comments like that have seen our community get nothing from the government over the years. If they come in and make our community better for our kids by spending $$ in our Appin then bring it on I say!

  2. Watching this video makes me realise how much I have missed by not retaining my farm in Macquariedale Rd as I could have been part of a very modern community that is only a short drive from the coast but handy to the education and medical facilities in Campbelltown.
When I served on Council the Development of Appin was not taken seriously as the figures were difficult to believe but are now close to completion.
All we need now is the upgrading of Campbelltown Stadium and have Wests Tigers based in Macarthur rather than wasted on Leichhardt Oval.
