Local MP Angus Taylor says he wants to hear from eligible not for profit groups who are interested in applying for funding through the Australian Government’s 2024/25 Volunteer Grants Program.

The Federal Member for Hume and Shadow Treasurer said $10 million will be allocated nationally across 151 electorates, with more than $66,000 available for his electorate.

Grants of between $1,000 and $5,000 will be up for grabs so that organisations can support the efforts of their volunteers.

These groups can make an expression of interest to the Office of Angus Taylor Hume MP by January 16, 2025.

A nominations list will then be forwarded to the Department of Social Services.

Mr Taylor, pictured above with bush fire volunteers at Douglas Park, said many of our local community groups would not be able to survive without the efforts of their volunteers.

“Volunteering plays such an important role in this region,’’ he said.

“It brings people together and makes our local communities better places to live.

“I strongly encourage all eligible groups to apply or get in touch with my office if they have any questions on 4658 7188.”

Expression of interest forms are also available for collection at the Hume MP’s Camden and Goulburn electorate offices.
