Flagstaff Macarthur is inviting the community to Buzz Day, a free open day celebrating learning, skill building, and fun for people of all abilities.

The event will be held next Wednesday, October 22, from 10.30am to 2pm at 48 Dunn Road, Smeaton Grange, the Flagstaff Macarthur premises.

Visitors can enjoy a sausage sizzle, see program demonstrations, barista training, try some woodwork and chat with Flagstaff’s friendly team about pathways in employment, training, and community life.

Flagstaff is a not for profit disability enterprise providing life skills and employment for people with disability and Buzz Day is all about discovering opportunities and building confidence.

There will be hands-on activities, including learning to make a great coffee using a café machine, cupcake decorations, Tradie Training and 3D Printing display, and a chance to learn more about Flagstaff’s School to Work supports, recreational and social programs, Access2Work, and We Belong programs.

“We are excited to open our doors to the community and show the range of opportunities available at Flagstaff Macarthur,” says community relationship manager Hannah Menon.

“It is a great way for families, carers, and people with disability to explore what’s possible from employment and training to social groups and lifestyle programs.”

The day will also feature interactive displays from programs such as School2Work, Fitness, life skills, and social activities, all designed to help people with disability gain independence, build social connections and reach their goals.
