Two year old toddler seriously hurt in Rossmore crash

Police are appealing for assistance after a toddler was seriously injured in a crash at Rossmore this morning.

Emergency services were called to King Street, Rossmore, following reports of a two-vehicle crash around 9am.

Officers attached to Liverpool City Police Area Command were told that a silver Holden SUV and a truck were damaged due to a head-on collision.

The driver of SUV – a 35-year-old woman – was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to Westmead Hospital for mandatory testing.

She was in a stable condition.

The passenger of SUV – a 2-year-old baby – was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to the Children’s Hospital at Westmead in a critical condition.

The driver of the truck – a 31-year-old man – was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to Liverpool Hospital for a mandatory testing.

He was also in a stable condition.

A crime scene has been established and an investigation into the circumstances surrounding this incident has commenced.

Police are reappealing for public assistance to locate a man missing from the Macquarie Fields area.

Darren Banks, age 57, was last seen at a home on Maple Place, Macquarie Fields, about 4pm on Friday, March 15.

Unable to be located or contacted since, Darren was reported missing to officers attached to Campbelltown City Police Area Command on March 20.

The next day, police located Darren’s vehicle, a white Toyota Camry 2004 with black roof racks and NSW registration ECR-17S, at Starlight Trail, Wattle Ridge – 15km west of Bargo.

Police believe that Darren may have gone bushwalking towards the Ahearn lookout or the Emmets Flat Campground area.

Police hold serious concerns for Darren’s’ welfare due to this being out of character.

Darren is described as being of Caucasian appearance, of medium build, approximately 180cm tall, with short brown hair and beard with brown eyes.

Anyone who has been in the Starlight Trail area who saw Darren, his vehicle or has information in relation to Darren’s whereabouts is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
