To the bat cave, boys and girls, Batman is coming to Camden.
But as a superhero he is so super busy he will only have time to meet just one of you.
We will soon find out who will be the lucky Camden kid to get a knock on the door from the caped crusader himself.
But it seems the protector of Gotham City is just as excited about meeting the winner of this year’s Superhero Dress Up competition.
“I have already had a chat to Batman, and he cannot wait to come out to one of your homes and surprise you with his bat mobile,” says Camden mayor Theresa Fedeli, who is pictured above with the Gotham City legend.
“Batman is always so popular at our annual Kids Fun Day event and although we can’t all get together to meet him this year, we’ve created a competition for one special kid to have the day of their lives,” Cr Fedeli said.
“I know many children have several superhero costumes at home but remember to get super creative in your home to stand out.
“It’s not about the most expensive costume only, I’m looking for clever use of materials around the home and creative ways of having your photo taken.’’
The mayor will judge the Superhero Dress Up competition, which will close on Sunday, September 13.
Kids aged up to eight years who live in the Camden area are eligible to enter the competition by simply getting creative, dressing as their favourite superhero and submitting the image to council.
Images must be submitted online via council’s website, by September 13.
The winner will receive a personalised message from the caped crusader himself and get to meet him in person on a date of their choice.
