Campbelltown Theatre Group will hit the stage from this Friday for its production of the iconic musical 9 to 5.

And the star of the show will be familiar to fans of the current season of The Voice, Laura Glynn.

Ms Glynn will be Judy Bernly in 9 to 5 the Musical – but it’s not the first time she has got on stage for a Campbelltown Theatre Group production.

Her love for musical theatre has led her to participate in more than 10 productions so far.

Ms Glynn, who lives locally, has also been working with Macarthur vocalists as a voice coach for more than a decade.

“Taking my place on the immense stage of season 13 of The Voice Australia with the mentorship of the amazing LeAnn Rimes is a dream come true,’’ says Ms Glynn.

“But my singing journey started with Campbelltown Theatre Group in 2012 when I was still in high school,’’ she said.

“This week I take the Campbelltown stage once again playing Judy Bernly in 9 to 5. It feels like coming full circle – whether it’s the national stage or a local one, I’m so proud to be part of something bigger, but I love the sense of community that theatre has given me from the start.”

9 to 5 the musical is a hilarious story of friendship and revenge in the Rolodex era. Pushed to the boiling point, three female co-workers concoct a plan to get even with the sexist, egotistical, lying, hypocritical bigot they call their boss.

This high-energy show features music and lyrics by Dolly Parton and is sure to have audiences laughing, cheering, and singing along.

Campbelltown Theatre Group has been a cornerstone of community theatre for 65 years.

  1. I have great memories of going to productions by Campbelltown Theatre Group in the 1970 s with Lillian Sullivan as star. They were great nights
