Wests Tigers will host the Manly Sea Eagles at Campbelltown Sports Stadium on Sunday week.

The round 14 NRL clash brings two old foes back in Wests and Manly and should be a ripper.

Whatever happens in the match, once the referee blows the final whistle the fans in attendance will be in for a musical treat: The Voice Australia champion, Lachie Gill, pictured, will be performing.

The concert will be Gill’s first public performance after being crowned as the winner of The Voice last Sunday.
Gill will perform his new hit single Wasted Time along with a range of covers.

Wests Tigers CEO Justin Pascoe says the club was working hard to make it the whole day an event to remember.

“We’re packing a lot of entertainment into the one match day and we’re delighted to have Lachie on board.  I think he’ll be a hit with fans of all ages,’’ he said.

“It should be a terrific event with three games, the post-match performance, and other family-friendly activities around the stadium.

“This is about giving our members a little extra and attracting new fans to our club.”

Originally a PE Teacher from Melbourne, Gill turned all four chairs in the blind auditions with his performance of If the World Was Ending before selecting British pop sensation Rita Ora as his mentor.

He stunned audiences with his versatility in the grand final, covering Cyndi Lauper’s Time After Time and teaming up with Rita for a duet of Lady Gaga’s Always Remember Us This Way.

Gill says he’s pumped to be a part of an NRL match day.

“I cannot wait to perform at the game. I’m really excited about it,’’ he said.

“ It’s a great stadium and the stage is set for what should be a ripping afternoon.”

It certainly is as our aerial shot of a full Campbelltown Sports Stadium shows. With club plans to relocate most of the NRL games to Campbelltown Sunday, June 12 may be the local fans’ chance to celebrate by turning up in big numbers.

The match against the Sea Eagles will form part of Wests Tigers members appreciation round and Gill’s performance will cap off an afternoon full of family entertainment.

Part funding for this match day extravaganza has been provided by the NSW Government through Investment NSW.
Anyone wishing to attend are encouraged to secure their seats in advance.
