Two teenagers have appeared in court over a carjacking and police pursuit across Campbelltown and Liverpool.
Police started the incident started when an 18-year-old man and a 21-year-old woman sitting in a Mercedes coupe in a carpark on Wickfield Circuit, Ambarvale, were approached by two people wearing face coverings, each holding a knife.
The couple were ordered to get out of the car, which was driven away by the assailants.
Police sighted the vehicle travelling on Lyn Parade, Prestons a few hours later.
Officers attached to Campbelltown Police Area Command attempted to stop the vehicle; however, when it failed to stop as directed, a pursuit was initiated.
The pursuit continued along Trojen Avenue, Austral where road spikes were successfully deployed and the Mercedes stopped a short distance away.
Three teens aged 16 and 17 were arrested and taken to Liverpool Police Station.
Two of them were charged with a number of offences relating to carjacking, being armed and failing to stop during a pursuit.
They were refused bail to appear before Campbelltown Childrens Court. During the pursuit police will allege that speeds of up to 200km/h were reached.
The third teenage boy, aged 16, will be dealt with under the Young Offenders Act.

In a separate incident, the driver of one of two vehicles involved in a collision at Leppington was taken to hospital in a critical condition on Friday night.
Emergency services were called to Bringelly Road, Leppington, following reports of a crash just after 9pm.
On arrival, officers attached to Camden Police Area Command found a Toyota Kluger vehicle and a Mitsubishi vehicle had collided at the traffic light intersection of Bringelly Road and Edmondson Avenue, Leppington.
The driver of the Toyota, a 57-year-old woman, was trapped for a short time before being release by first responders. She was assessed at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedic and taken to Liverpool Hospital in a critical condition.
The passengers, a 63-year-old man and a 30-year-old woman, were taken to Westmead Hospital for further assessments.
The driver of the Mitsubishi, a 26-year-old woman, and front passenger, a 27-year-old woman – were also taken to Liverpool Hospital for further assessment.
A crime scene was established into the circumstances of the crash.
