The notorious Appin Road has claimed another life. A 13 year old boy hit by a truck last week has died in hospital as a result of his injuries.
The incident took place around 3.30pm on Wednesday, October 11.
Emergency services were called to the intersection of Church Street and Appin Road, Appin, and on arrival officers from Campbelltown City Police Area Command were told that a 13-year-old boy had been struck by a truck.
The boy was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics on scene before he was taken to the Children’s Hospital at Westmead in a critical condition.
The truck driver, a 38-year-old man, was not injured and underwent mandatory testing at Campbelltown Hospital.
A crime scene was established, and investigations commenced into the circumstances surrounding the crash.
Police were notified earlier this week that the boy has now died in hospital.

In a separate incident, police are appealing for information following the stabbing of a restaurant worker in Macquarie Street, Liverpool.
The incident took place on September 17.
NSW Ambulance paramedics treated a 20-year-old man at the scene before he was taken to Liverpool Hospital in a serious but stable condition, where he underwent surgery.
Officers from Liverpool Police Area Command commenced an investigation into the incident.
As inquiries continue, investigators have released images of five men who may be able to assist with their investigation.
All the men are described as being in their late 20s to early 30s, of African appearance and of medium build.
Two of the men are wearing a light-coloured Thobes and Kufi caps. One of the men was wearing dark-coloured shoes and the other dark-coloured slides.
The third man was wearing a light-coloured Kufi cap, dark-coloured jumper with white stripes on the upper arms and black sneakers.
A fourth man is described as having brown short hair and moustache and goatee-style beard. He was wearing a navy blue shirt, black jeans and grey shoes.
The last man is described as having brown hair and wearing a white t-shirt with green logo, blue jeans and white shoes.
Police are urging anyone who may have information or witnessed the incident to contact Liverpool Police Station or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
