Three teenage boys arrested over fire near Harrington Park

Acting on information provided by members of the public, officers from Camden Police Area Command investigating a bushfire near Harrington Park arrested three teenage boys last night.

Two of the boys, aged 15 and 16, were found and arrested after officers conducted a search in the vicinity of the fire.

A third teen, aged 15, was arrested a short time later.

All three were taken to Narellan Police Station and were interviewed by police in the presence of their support people.

Police say that all three are eligible to be dealt with under the Young Offenders Act.

Three mobile phones and other items have been seized for forensic examination.

A passing motorist alerted authorities when he saw the grass fire in bush off The Northern Road at Harrington Park about 5.30pm last night, Sunday, November 27.

Firefighters from Fire and Rescue NSW and the Rural Fire Service attended and had the fire extinguished by 6.15pm.
