Taylor election pledge of $4.5m in sport upgrades across Camden

Angus Taylor, who is seeking a fifth term as the federal member for Hume, says $4.52 million in funding would be made available by a Dutton Liberal Government for significant upgrades to five sport and recreation facilities across Camden.

He said this would include $3 million to build women’s changerooms and amenities, and upgrade to LED floodlightingat Kirkham Parkin Elderslie (pictured above).

Nott Ovalin Narellan would receive $625,000 to complete the Narellan tennis courts with supporting amenities and upgrade to LED floodlighting.

And $550,000 will go to Liquidamber Reservein Narellan Valeto upgrade to LED floodlighting for the playing fields and tennis facility.

Jack Brabham Reservein Oran Park will receive $220,000 for upgrades to the women’s amenities and floodlighting.

For Don Moon Reservein Camden its $125,000 share will go towards upgrading the existing playspace.

“Shared outdoor spaces play an important role in bringing our community together and these upgrades will ensure that this can continue for decades to come,” Mr Taylor said.

“Whether it’s building women’s changerooms and facilities, upgrading lighting to safer and more energy-efficient options, or creating inclusive play spaces – each of these projects will support our growing region and improve the lifestyle enjoyed here by local families.”

“We will invest in local infrastructure and ensure Camden residents have access to the facilities they need and deserve.

Mr Taylor has also committed a Coalition Government to $19,000 towards security upgrades at two churches in the Hume electorate.

The commitment will deliver $10,000 for security cameras and lighting at Hope Anglican Church in Leppington and $9,000 for similar upgrades at New Life Anglican Church in Oran Park.

Mr Taylor said everyone in our community deserves to feel safe and supported.

“Churches create a sense of belonging and connection and deserve to be places where faith can be practised in safety,” Mr Taylor said.

“I’m only too happy to support projects such as these which make our community safer.”
