Lennox Fielding is only seven years old, but on Sunday he dominated round one in the novice category of the Dunlop Kart Stars Championship at Lithgow City Raceway.

The young racer, who hails from the Cobbitty corner of the Macarthur region, was strong across the novice category, placing first in heat 1, pre-final, and final races at the event hosted by Combined Districts Kart Club.

Lennox made a remarkable comeback to win overall after a setback in heat 2 saw him issued with a 10-second penalty for a start procedure infringement, dropping him to 5th place on the point score despite winning this heat.

He fought his way back to win the round overall and earn the top place on the podium.

Throughout the championship round, Lennox Fielding consistently recorded the fastest lap times in each race and achieved the highest top speeds.

In the heat 3 pre-final, he recorded an impressive top speed of 69.14 km/hr and the fastest lap time of 39.10 seconds, demonstrating exceptional skill and racing instinct for a competitor of his age.

His dominance was particularly evident in the final, where he crossed the finish line with a convincing 2.223 second lead over his closest competitor, and NSW Kart Team mate, 9 year old Dean Bitmead.

As one of the youngest participants in the competition, Fielding’s performance has marked him as a rising star to watch.

“Lennox’s natural talent behind the wheel is extraordinary,’’ said Christian Jory, manager of the NSW kart team.

“To drive so consistently and competitively at such a young age against competitors up to 9 years old in this category speaks volumes about his potential.’’

The Dunlop Kart Stars Championship was newly launched in 2025, creating excitement throughout the Karting NSW community as a fresh platform for nurturing future motorsport talent.

With its impressive prize structure, the championship is poised to become a significant stepping stone for young racers on their path to higher levels of competition.

Lennox Fielding will look to continue his winning form in Round 2 of the championship scheduled for April 12 at Sapphire Coast Kart Club, Bega.
