Man stabbed and his car stolen at Rosemeadow

Campbelltown police are investigating a stabbing and vehicle theft incident at Rosemeadow on Boxing Day.

Emergency services were called to Desdemona Street around 3.45am where they found a man with stab wounds to his leg.

The 45-year-old was taken to Liverpool Hospital for treatment.

Officers from Campbelltown City Police Area Command attended and were told the man’s vehicle had been stolen after the stabbing.

An investigation into the incident is under way.

As inquiries continue, police are appealing for public assistance to locate the man’s vehicle, a white Holden utility with NSW registration DYM 48F.

Investigations are also under way into an armed robbery of a service station at St Andrews.

Police were called to the business on Stranraer Drive, around 8:50pm on Christmas Eve, after an employee was threatened by a man armed with a handgun.

The employee handed cash to the robber, who ran from the scene.

Police are now appealing for information to identify a man they believe can assist with inquiries.

He has been described only as being of Caucasian appearance and had his face covered with a black face mask. At the time he was wearing long black pants, a long-sleeved grey shirt, and a white NIKE-brand hat.

A P-plate driver has been charged after a man died in a crash at Leppington on Christmas Eve.

Officers attached to South West Metropolitan Highway Patrol attempted to stop the driver of a Lancer shortly after 11.20pm after it was detected allegedly travelling above the speed limit.

Police activated lights and sirens and attempted to catch up to the vehicle; however, a short time later the vehicle struck a power pole on Eastwood Road, Leppington.

Both occupants were thrown from the vehicle, with an 18-year-old man – who was a front-seat passenger – dying at the scene.

The driver, also aged 18, was taken to Liverpool Hospital under police guard for treatment for arm injuries and mandatory testing.

About 5:30pm on Christmas Day the driver was discharged from hospital and was taken to Narellan Police Station where he was charged with nine offences, including aggravated dangerous driving occasioning death.

His provisional licence has been suspended.

The man, from Green Valley, was refused bail to appear in Parramatta Bail Court on Boxing Day.
