Shotguns, rifles stolen during afternoon break-in at The Oaks

Four firearms, including two shotguns and two rifles, were stolen during a break-in at a home near Camden.

They were taken from a firearm safe located inside the house on property at Burragorang Road, The Oaks – 20km west of Camden.

Police say the break-in took place occurred on the afternoon of Monday, June 13.

Initial inquiries suggest entry was forced into the home via the kitchen.

Now police are appealing for public assistance to help them break the case.


They are urging anyone with information about the incident – or who has dashcam or mobile phone footage from the area – to contact Camden Police Station on 4632 4499 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

An off-duty, Southwest Metropolitan Region
officer has been charged following an alleged affray in the Sydney CBD yesterday.

The charge relates to an affray that is alleged to have occurred in the early hours of Sunday in Darling Harbour.

The 23-year-old man – who is attached to a command within the Southwest Metropolitan Region – was issued a Court Attendance Notice for affray and will appear at Downing Centre Local Court on July 20.

Another man has been charged as part of the investigations into two separate stabbings in Campbelltown.

In the first incident, March 4, 2019, police were notified after a man presented to the Campbelltown Hospital with non-life threatening stab wounds to his hand, chest and ear.

Police were told he was injured after being robbed and attacked with a machete at a home on Lochinver Place, St Andrews, the day before.

In a second incident, August 31, 2020, emergency services were called to a home on Julian Way, Claymore, and found a man suffering stab wounds to his chest and hands.

The man told police he was injured after being robbed in the street of two mobile phones and a watch.

He was taken to Liverpool Hospital by NSW Ambulance paramedics in a stable condition.

At the time, officers from Campbelltown City Police Area Command established Strike Force Gibbergunyah and Strike Force Havannah to investigate the incidents.

Following inquiries, detectives arrested a 32-year-old man at Campbelltown Police Station on February 24, 2021. He remains before the courts.

On February 25, 2021, police executed a search warrant at a home on Hilder Way, Claymore, and seized four mobile phones, along with an electronic stun device.

A 37-year-old man was issued a Court Attendance Notice for wounding a person with intent to murder, aggravated robbery with wounding/grievous bodily harm, and wounding a person with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.

The man was refused bail and will appear in Campbelltown Local Court on August 10.
