This man is wanted over shoplifting offences

Police are appealing for public assistance to locate a wanted man from the outer South Western Sydney region.

Michael Reid, aged 32, pictured, is wanted on an outstanding arrest warrant for shoplifting offences.

Officers attached to Campbelltown City Police Area Command have been conducting inquiries into his whereabouts and are now appealing for public assistance.

Mr Reid is described as being of Caucasian appearance, approximately 170cm to 175cm tall, thin build, with brown hair and blue/grey eyes.

He is known to also frequent the Nowra, Liverpool, and Sutherland areas.

Anyone with information into his whereabout is urged not to approach him but to call Triple Zero (000) immediately.

A man faced court today after being charged with murder over the fatal stabbing of a man in Campbelltown two years ago.

Just after 9pm on November 19, 2022, a 25-year-old man presented to Campbelltown Hospital with a stab wound to his torso.

Despite the efforts of attending medical staff, the man died at the hospital.

Officers from Campbelltown City Police Area Command attended and established a crime scene at the hospital.

Detectives, with assistance from the State Crime Command’s Homicide Squad, established Strike Force Taralye to investigate the circumstances surrounding the man’s death.

Following extensive inquiries, about 1pm yesterday, a 25-year-old man was arrested in Gorokan by officers from Tuggerah Lakes Police District and detectives from Strike Force Taralye.

He was taken to Wyong Police Station where he was charged with murder.

The man was refused bail to appear at Wyong Local Court, while inquiries under Strike Force Taralye continue.
