Seyfarth gets two more years to prove he’s got the right stuff

Alex Seyfarth is very much an under rated rugby league forward. But Wests Tigers fans appreciate the effort of the 24 year old prop every time he gets an opportunity in the NRL.

The feeling you get from watching him is that the best is yet to come from such a fierce competitor.

The club must agree with this sentiment because it has just announced Alex Seyfarth – pictured above with David Nofoaluma – has signed a new contract.

The two year deal will see Seyfarth remain with Wests Tigers until at least the end of the 2025 season.

A Dundas Shamrocks junior, Seyfarth has made 47 NRL appearances in four seasons at Wests Tigers after making his first grade debut in Round 3 of the 2020 season.

Seyfarth is excited about the new era under new head coach Benji Marshall.

“I’m really happy to sign my third contract with the club that I always wanted to play for as a kid,” Seyfarth said.

“Benji was a hero for so many young kids growing up, and now here I am being coached by him. I think he’ll do a great job.

“I’m looking forward to having a strong pre-season and being injury free. This time last year I was still recovering from pec surgery, so it will be good to hit the ground running.”

Marshall is pleased to have Seyfarth on board for a further two years.

“He is a great kid who is a team first man and who gives his everything week in week out,” Marshall said.

“He has a great attitude towards training, competes on every play on the field, and has a lot to offer our club going forward.”
