Upon retirement, many people these days turn to community service.

With time to spare, seniors citizens get stuck into volunteering in their areas of interest.

Very few are content to sit back and just smell the roses after giving up work.

They spend time with the grandchildren, as well as helping out at community activities.

Now Campbelltown MP Greg Warren is urging members of the community to nominate one of these active local residents for the Seniors Festival Local Achievement Award.

The 2021 Seniors Festival will be held from Tuesday, April 13 through to Saturday, April 24.

As part of the celebrations, locals are being given the opportunity to nominate a Campbelltown resident for the achievement award.

Mr Warren urged everyone to consider nominating a worthy recipient.

“Whether it be a grandparent who has gone above and beyond or a member of a local organisation who donates hours every week to assist others, there is no shortage of Campbelltown residents who would deserve the Seniors Festival local achievement award,” Mr Warren said.

“Nominating someone for the award is a great way to express your gratitude for their dedication, hard work and passion.

“It only takes a couple of minutes to nominate someone so it’s definitely time well spent.”

Nominations must include: nominee’s name; name, contact phone number and email of the nominator; and a reason for the nomination.

Nominations can be emailed to campbelltown@parliament.nsw.gov.au or sent to 3/72 Queen Street, Campbelltown.

Nominations are open now and close Friday, March 19 at 5pm.
