When Ruse football club posted on social media a photo of the long serving Kim Clark receiving a community service award Campbelltown MP Greg Warren there were a lot of “congratulations’’ comments underneath.

But the main theme of those comments was how the club stalwart deserved the honour from our parliamentary representative.

Ms Clark has been involved with Ruse Football Club for more than four decades in various capacities.

She was a member of the club’s inaugural women’s team in 1983.

Since then she has held various positions on the club committee, including secretary and canteen coordinator.

Ms Clark is currently the club’s registrar.

“It is people like Kim that make community sport operate so efficiently and efficiently,” Mr Warren said presenting her with a NSW Community Service Award.

“Without the coaches, the volunteers and the committee members, community sport would not be able to run as smoothly as it does.

“People like Kim don’t volunteer their time for the accolades – they do it simply for the betterment of our community.

“This award is a wonderful acknowledgement for all the work Kim has done over the past 40 years with Ruse Football Club.

“Congratulations again Kim on a well-deserved and prestigious award.”

As for Kim Clark, all she had to say was that she was honoured to receive this community service award.
