Two broken ribs for man, 23, robbed at Glen Alpine

Police are appealing for public assistance to find the two men who assaulted and robbed a pedestrian at Glen Alpine.

The victim, 23-year-old man, was walking along Englorie Park Drive and Heritage Way, about 5.30am last Friday when he was approached by an unknown man who grabbed his mobile phone.

The man was able to take his phone back and ran away.

A short time later, the victim was punched and robbed of his laptop and mobile phone by two men who got out of a dark-coloured car.

Police say they believe one of the men was the same person who’d made the initial approach.

The victim suffered two broken ribs, facial bruising and swelling.

Officers from Campbelltown City Police Area Command have commenced an investigation and are appealing for the public’s help to identify the men.

The two men are described as being of Caucasian in appearance, wearing black beanies, black gloves and face masks.

Investigators are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the incident or have dashcam footage between 5am and 6am to contact Campbelltown Police Station on 9605 0499.

In a separate incident, the body of a teenage boy was recovered from Chipping Norton Lake on the weekend.

Officers from Liverpool City Police Area Command were notified after a 14-year-old boy had slipped into the lake near McMillan Park at around 3pm on Saturday.

Emergency services attended after the boy failed to resurface.

Following an extensive search by Marine Area Command and police divers, at about 4.45pm the boy’s body was retrieved from the water.

He was formally identified as the missing 14-year-old boy.

Police are conducting inquiries into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
