Roadworks alert for motorists across Macarthur region

Pedestrian safety improvement work is scheduled to start from Sunday, June 1 at the intersection of Moore-Oxley Street and Broughton Street, Campbelltown (pictured above).

The work will involve installing new arrow lanterns on the existing traffic light poles to allow pedestrians to more safely cross the intersection while holding motorists on red arrows.

Work will include the installation of new traffic signal infrastructure within the footpath and road area.

Work will be completed by August 15, weather permitting.

Crews will be on site for up to 18 night shifts, between Sunday and Thursday, 8pm and 5am the next day.

No work will take place on Friday and Saturday nights or the Monday, June 9 public holiday.

 There will be temporary traffic changes to make sure the work zone is safe. Lane closures and a 40km/h speed limit will be in place for the safety of road work crew and motorists.

 Traffic controllers will be on site to assist motorists and pedestrians.

There will also be changed traffic conditions at the junction of Therry and Appin Roads, for the installation of directional signage

Crews will be on site for up to three-night shifts between Monday, June 2 and Sunday, June 15.

This work will provide clear directions to Woodhouse Drive, Therry Road and Campbelltown Hospital.

During June 10-22, work will take place to replace line markings on Menangle Street between Colden Street and Matthews Lane, Picton
