Millions of dollars allocated to upgrade key roads in the Werriwa electorate is just what the doctor ordered, says the federal member, Anne Stanley.

Bernera Road, Kurrajong Road, Middleton Drive and Bringelly Road will all get a share of the funding.

Ms Stanley says the Albanese Labor Government is committed to delivering the infrastructure that the Werriwa electorate needs, while also ensuring that roads in our community are safe.

“I’m pleased that this funding is going towards infrastructure that will help ease traffic congestion, make our community safer, create jobs and help our wages grow,’’ Ms Stanley said.

‘After years of neglect by the previous Liberal government, it’s terrific to see our local roads get the funding they deserve.

“Werriwa is one of the fastest growing electorates in the country and is heavily car and road transport dependent.

“This much needed funding boost will not only make our roads safer but will also ensure residents get home faster to their families,’’ Ms Stanley said.

The Werriwa MP said work had already started on the Bernera Road upgrade.

Funding through a number of grants has been provided to Liverpool City Council to upgrade roads in the Werriwa electorate.

The roads receiving funding include $2.643 million to upgrade Bernera Road at Yarrawa Street, Prestons.

Also, $4.014 million to upgrade the Kurrajong Road intersection at Beech Road and Lyn Parade, Prestons.

Plus $6 million to extend Middleton Drive and the M7 underpass and $407 million for the Bringelly Road upgrade.

“I call on Liverpool City Council to now get on with the job of delivering these projects,’’ Ms Stanley said.
