Bulls FC Academy have jumped to fourth on the NPLW competition ladder after a thumping 4-0 win over UNSW on the weekend.

The Bulls, unbeaten in the past eight rounds, are now just five points from competition leader Rangers.

The Bulls took the lead in the 30th minute through Arna Hogarth-Scott, who met a UNSW defensive clearance with a brilliant strike that blitzed through a sea of bodies in her path and nestled into the bottom left corner.

UNSW continued to endure pressure from the Bulls in the second half, with the home side pressing their opposition into a mistake in the 61st minute when Sarah Langman misjudged her pass right into the path of Avaani Prakash, who setup Jynaya Dos Santos for a sensational curling finish to make it 2-0.

The floodgates were now open for the Bulls to pile on the misery for UNSW, and they would just two minutes later when Elizabeth Grey calmly turned and slotted home a cross with a poacher’s finish.

A ruthless counterattack would lead to the Bulls scoring their fourth and final goal of the day through Daniella Naeimi, who buried her strike to make it 4-0.

While the Bulls are on the rise, it’s the opposite at the other end of the ladder, where premiers Macarthur Rams find themselves after another defeat.

Macarthur went down 3-1 in an away match at Cromer Park against Manly United.

The home side took control of the game in the early stages with several attacking forays.  One of these, 16 minutes in, gave the home side the lead, with another goal four minutes later for a 2-0 lead.

The Rams pulled a goal back early on in the second half through returning winger India Breier.

After a 90 minute break in response to lightning over the area, a third goal to Manly in the 76th minute ended any hope Rams had of salvaging a point from the match.
