Raby Oval, the home of the Campbelltown Camden Ghosts cricket club for more than 40 years, has always had a great reputation as a top shelf sport venue.

Members of visiting teams from around the Sydney metropolitan area – players, coaches and fans – have regularly complimented the Ghosts for their superb home.

Now it is official that Raby Oval is top of the pops.

The venue along Raby Road has been awarded first place in the Cricket NSW ground of the year awards.

Pitch and ground assessments were undertaken by the umpires after each grade fixture during the 2024/25 NSW Premier Cricket competition.

The assessment criteria focused on pitch performance, pitch condition, outfield, and markings and maintenance.

It is the second successive year that Raby Oval has placed in the top three in the ground of the year awards.

Campbelltown Mayor Darcy Lound was chuffed with the prestigious award for Raby Oval.

“This award win is a testament to council’s hard-working teams, as well as the dedicated ground staff at Raby Oval who have prepared the field and pitch to be in tip-top shape for play each weekend,” Mayor Lound said.

“Raby Oval is one of Campbelltown’s premier sports facilities and this award further strengthens the venue’s fantastic reputation right across the Sydney region,” said Cr Lound, who is pictured above with some of the outdoor staff who work at Raby Oval.
