
A critical incident investigation is under way following the death of a man in Campbelltown this morning.
The incident occurred in the early hours of this morning when emergency services were called to Parkside Crescent, which is the road that loops around Marsden Park and adjacent to Campbelltown public and private hospitals.
On arrival, NSW Police officers, with the assistance of NSW Ambulance paramedics, attempted to assist and sedate the 41 year old man, when he became unconscious.
The officers and paramedics attempted to revive the 41-year-old man; however, he died at the scene.
A crime scene was established and a critical incident investigation team from Bankstown police area command will now investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident under Strike Force Morinville.
The investigation will be subject of an independent review by the Professional Standards Command and oversight by the Law Enforcement Conduct Commission.
At 1pm this afternoon Assistant Commissioner Brett McFadden, the South West Metropolitan Region Commander, will address the media in a bid to appeal for information.

In a separate incident, another man, 76, died in a single vehicle crash along the notorious Appin Road at Bradbury last night.
Emergency services responded to reports of a crash just before 10pm.
On arrival they say they found a Holden Commodore had left the roadway and crashed into a guard rail.
The driver, who died at the scene, is yet to be formally identified.
