An 18 year old teacher’s aide has been charged at Picton with allegedly engaging in child prostitution in the Macarthur region.

He was refused bail to appear in Moss Vale Local Court today.

Police allege the accused met children online who he paid to film them engaging in sexual acts with him.

Police will further allege the man had a number of fraudulent online profiles which he would use to extort young children.

Officers attached to Camden Police Area Command commenced an investigation into the activities of an 18-year-old Picton man late last year.

On November 24, detectives executed a search warrant in Picton, where they located and seized electronics relevant to their investigation.

Following further inquiries, about 8.45am today (Tuesday, January 21), detectives returned to the address where they arrested an 18-year-old man.

The man was taken to Narellan Police Station, where he was charged with two counts of acting as a client with a child between the ages of 14 and 18 in prostitution, produce child abuse material and possess child abuse material.
