
A pedestrian who was struck by a vehicle yesterday afternoon north of Campbelltown has now died.
Emergency services responded to reports that a pedestrian had been struck by a car at the intersection of Belmont Road and Canterbury Road, Glenfield just after 4pm.
The pedestrian, a 70-year-old man, was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics before he was taken to Liverpool Hospital in a critical condition.
Police have since been told the man died in hospital.
Officers attached to Campbelltown Police Area Command were told that the man was hit by a car at the location.
The car allegedly failed to stop and was last seen travelling north along Canterbury Road.
The car is described as being a silver coloured dual cab utility and possibly a Toyota Hilux.
A crime scene was established and examined by specialist police from the Crash Investigation Unit.
Traffic diversions were also put in place and motorists were urged to avoid the area.
A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.
