Pedestrian dies after being hit by car on Hume Highway

A man has died after being hit by a car on the Hume Highway near Campbelltown yesterday morning.

Police say that around 7.20am (Sunday, March 10), emergency services responded to reports that a pedestrian had been struck by a vehicle at Woodbine.

NSW Ambulance paramedics treated the male pedestrian, but he died at the scene.

At this stage, the man’s identity is unknown.

The 48-year-old female driver, who was uninjured, was taken to Campbelltown Hospital for mandatory testing.

Officers attached to Campbelltown City Police Area Command established a crime scene as an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident continues.

A report will be prepared for the information of the coroner.

Anyone who may have been driving on the Hume Motorway at Woodbine prior to 7.20am on Sunday morning and has dash cam footage is urged to contact Campbelltown Police or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

Police are appealing for public assistance to locate this teenage boy missing from the Wollondilly Shire.

Jack McMillan, aged 16, was last seen on January 30, when he was dropped off at Picton railway station by a family member.

When he could not be located, or contacted, officers attached to Camden Police Area Command were notified and commenced inquiries into his whereabouts.

Police and family hold concerns for his welfare.

Jack is described as being of Caucasian appearance, about 165 to 170cm tall, thin build, fair complexion, with blond hair and brown eyes. When he last seen he was wearing a black jumper and grey Nike tracksuit pants.

He is known to frequent Campbelltown, Minto and Fairfield.

Anyone with information into Jack’s whereabouts is urged to call Camden Police or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
