Campbelltown residents will have an opportunity to find their next best friend at the Campbelltown Animal Care Facility’s Open Day next Saturday, May 3.

From 10am to 3pm, people are invited to come and meet the facility’s friendly staff, learn more about the pet adoption process, and spend time with some furry friends who are looking for their forever home.

Discounted adoption fees will be provided on all animals on the day.

There will also be stalls from pet suppliers and animal organisations at the event, while other highlights will include a sausage sizzle and coffee vendor.

“Welcoming a new pet into your home is always a big decision and our friendly Animal Care Facility staff will be able to offer expert advice for Campbelltown residents,” says the Mayor of Campbelltown Darcy Lound.

“The Campbelltown ACF’s open day will provide a great opportunity for people to meet the wonderful animals who are hoping to find their perfect match for adoption. We’re hoping to give every pet here a warm home this winter,” Cr Lound said.

“All the animals from our facility come microchipped, health checked and registered, so adopting a furry friend from our Animal Care Facility is always a great option.”

In other Campbelltown Council news, the popular Handmade and Homegrown Markets on Q will return with a monthly market event at Lithgow Street from Sunday, May 18.

Held on the third Sunday of each month, the market will feature artisanal goods, fresh produce and pre-loved items, alongside the return of popular activities like Cars & Coffee, Glenalvon House self-guided tours, Devonshire Tea and Teddy Bears Picnic.

“It’s been great to see our community come together to support our weekly markets in the heart of Campbelltown CBD each weekend and provide us with essential feedback that continues to shape this wonderful event,” Mayor Lound said.

“As we transition back to our regular monthly market, we do so with valuable community feedback, strengthened relationships with new stallholders and a list of community favourite activities that will now feature as regular attractions.

“I encourage everyone to join us at Handmade and Homegrown Markets on Q and continue to support this wonderful monthly showcase of talent and goods from across our region,” he said.

Handmade and Homegrown Markets on Q are co-hosted by Campbelltown City Council and Eat Shop Love, from 8am to 1pm, every third Sunday of each month from Sunday, May 18.
