The Ranges at Gledswood Hills doesn’t have any residents, but it does boast a newly minted three hectare public reserve.
The new park was designed with outdoor activity, family time and community connection in mind.
It features a destination playground, flying fox, swings, barbecue and seating areas, a large kick-about recreation area, and shared cycling and walking tracks.
The walking and cycling paths will also form part of a broader network of connections throughout The Ranges, helping residents explore their neighbourhood and enjoy an active outdoor lifestyle.
The park has been delivered ahead of the first residents moving into the estate, with public access to be made available from November 16.
A ribbon cutting ceremony was held following the completion of the facility, which was delivered in partnership between Camden Council and Legacy Property.
“The park reflected our commitment to creating connected, liveable communities,’’ said Matthew Hyder, the CEO of Legacy Property.
“We’re proud to deliver this $6 million community asset ahead of the first residents moving into The Ranges, creating a welcoming space for people to connect, play and enjoy the outdoors for generations to come.
“Legacy Property acknowledged the important role of Camden Council and the many stakeholders involved in planning, approving and delivering the park.
“We thank Camden Council and all stakeholders for their expertise, support and commitment in helping deliver this important community asset.”
Mayor of Camden Vince Ferreri said the opening of a park at The Ranges was a significant milestone for the growing Gledswood Hills community.
“Camden Council is committed to creating healthy, connected and liveable communities, and facilities such as this contribute greatly to the quality of life our residents value.,’’ he said.
