Police are appealing for information following the death of a man who was a passenger in a two-vehicle crash in Oran Park.

The incident occurred just after 5pm at the intersection of Dick Johnson Drive and Oran Park Drive, Oran Park, on January 23.

Officers attached to Camden Police Area Command arrived to find a silver Toyota sedan and a white Toyota utility had collided in the intersection.

The back passenger of the sedan, a 64-year-old man, was treated for torso injuries by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to Liverpool Hospital in a serious condition. Both drivers were uninjured.

Two days later, on January 25, police were informed the 64-year-old man had died in hospital.

As investigations continue, police are urging anyone with dashcam vision or information about the incident to contact Camden Police or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

About 1.50am on Australia Day, officers attached to Campbelltown Highway Patrol detected a vehicle allegedly travelling at 105km/h in a signposted 80km/h zone on The Northern Road, Bringelly.

Police stopped the sedan, and the driver, a 21-year-old man, produced a NSW learner licence.

He was allegedly unsupervised, and no L-plates displayed.

The man was subjected to a roadside breath test, which allegedly tested positive.

He was taken to Narellan Police Station where he was subjected to a breath analysis allegedly returned a reading of 0.117, and he allegedly tested positive to cannabis.

The man was issued a Field Court Attendance Notice to appear before Picton Local Court on February 20.

This was just one of many incidents during Operation Australia Day 2025 which targetted drivers for speeding, drink and drug driving, mobile phone usage and seatbelt offences.

Police have urged the community to be safer and more considerate on the road after a significant number of dangerous driving incidents were detected across the state during the operation, when double demerit points were in effect.
