Campbelltown Council receives about 1,200 phone calls from the public each year seeking information on when their local park will next be mowed.

Thanks to digital technology, those residents will no longer have to ring the council to find out.

Council has announced that Campbelltown residents now have easy access online to find out when their local park or reserve was last mowed alongside information about how often they are scheduled to be mowed.

Open spaces across Campbelltown are separated into five categories to ensure areas of high usage by the public are given high priority.

Mowing frequency across these categories is doubled during the “growing season’’ from October to April.

Council’s website now features an interactive map and table, showcasing open spaces across the Campbelltown Local Government Area and the last time they were mowed, as well as information on the next scheduled mow.

“Our mowing crews cover more than 12.5 million m2 across Campbelltown many parks, reserves, and other public spaces, as well as 45 sporting precincts,” Mayor Darcy Lound said.

“We know how much people across Campbelltown value their open spaces and our mowing schedule prioritises areas of high usage.

“So I’m delighted that we’re now launching this dashboard to keep the community better informed,” said Mayor Lound, who is pictured above with council’s urban landscapes team.
