Greg Warren, the Member for Campbelltown, says the NSW Budget handed down on Tuesday included a number of commitments to his electorate.
One of these was $3.3 million to continue planning for the widening of Appin Road from St Johns Road to the southern access of the Mount Gilead estate and $3.8 million for continued works on the Georges River National Park.
The Budget also allocated $5 million for Menangle Road upgrades through the Housing Acceleration Fund and $575,000 for 23 school crossing supervisors in Campbelltown.
Mr Warren, pictured above with the budget papers on Tuesday, said Campbelltown residents will benefit from a number of state wide investments in the budget, including a $435.4 million boost to the value of energy rebates delivered to households across NSW.
And as part of the NSW Government’s record $6.6 billion investment into social housing, Campbelltown will receive more than $118 million to upgrade and repair existing social housing properties while continuing to increase supply and support those currently on the housing waiting list.
“I congratulate the Treasurer on this responsible and important budget,’’ Mr Warren said.
“I welcome all the investment in Campbelltown, but that doesn’t mean I will stop pushing for more.
“The NSW Government is focused on supporting those people who need it most,’’ he said.
“Repairing and upgrading many of the old and dilapidated social housing properties in and around Campbelltown will make a world of difference for those tenants who continue to struggle with faults in their property.’’
Mr Warren said $600 million will be spent on school maintenance work, including planned and preventative maintenance and essential repairs.
This is wonderful news for infrastructure. Please ensure that school facilities and public buildings have disability access as this will benefit the elderly also. If Labor are defeated in favour of the Dutton Nuclear Program, many of these projects will dissipate and become incomplete “white elephants” ala Berejiklian and Perrottet governments. Please do it once and do it well as Minns and Albanese governments must return to continue the positive policies initiated.
