Charged with murder over death of four month old boy at Oran Park

A woman has been charged with murder following a four month investigation into the tragic death of a baby boy in the Camden area.

About 4.40pm on Thursday, May 20, emergency services responded after concerns were raised for the welfare of residents at a home in Oran Park.

Upon arrival, officers attached to Camden Police Area Command found a four-month-old boy unconscious and unresponsive.

NSW Ambulance paramedics commenced CPR at the scene before the infant was taken to Campbelltown Hospital, however, was unable to be revived.

A 32-year-old woman was arrested at the home and taken to Narellan Police Station.

She was subsequently taken to Liverpool Hospital for assessment.

The Oran Park home was examined by specialist forensic officers.

In the meantime, Camden detectives launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the child’s death.

As a result of the police investigation, a woman was arrested in Malabar today (Wednesday, September 29) and charged with murder (domestic violence).

She was refused bail and appeared before Campbelltown Local Court today via a video link today.

The woman was formally refused bail by the court.

She is now due to reappear before Campbelltown Local Court on Wednesday, November 24.
