Rotary Club of Camden will host a mental health forum and expo tomorrow, Saturday, March 23.

Sponsored by the Camden Council, the forum and expo will be held in the Camden Civic Centre (pictured above) from 10am to 4pm. There’s free entry.

“The path to healing is often walked in the company of others,’’ says Nigel Smith, who has courageously navigated his mental health journey after the tragic loss of his son Lachlan in a car crash in 2022.

“Camden Rotary Club has been a beacon of support and understanding through my darkest times,’’ he said.

“This event is a torch in the night for those seeking a way forward.’’

Organisers say the forum/expo aims to elevate mental health awareness, dismantle the stigma around mental illness, and enhance the community’s capacity to care for themselves and each other.

“It promises a day filled with expert speakers and an exposition featuring a range of mental health support providers, catering to diverse needs and fostering a community of care and support,’’ they said in a media release.

“Attendance is complimentary, affirming the Rotary club’s commitment to accessible mental health education and support.’’

Organisations looking to join the expo can reserve their space for a nominal $50 booking fee, which includes an allocated area, essential amenities, and refreshments.

Availability is limited, and exhibitors are invited to register promptly to secure their spot.

“This event is more than an expo; it’s a lifeline,’’ says Nigel Smith.

“It’s an opportunity for individuals and families to come together, learn, and find the support they need to navigate mental health challenges. It’s about community strength and hope.’’

The Rotary Club of Camden encourages the community to come together for this day of learning, sharing, and support.
